Local History Web Sites.

Here are some great Mohawk Valley historical web sites, many which have links to other great sites:

Fort Klock

Local Talk Show Host, Columnist and Historian, Bob Cudmore

Mohawk Valley Searchable Databases

Fort Johnson

I will add these to my links at some point and will add additional sites from time to time.

  • thanks for your kind comment on my Albany Lawyer blog. It led me to your blog, and I noticed this post on history. Thought you'd like to know I'm working on a new website that will be relevant to local history. The site will be danielcady.com (I have the url, but the site is not up yet). He is the father of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and thought by some to be the father of Fulton County (engineering the split after the Montgomery County seat was moved from Johnstown to Fonda).

The site will carry various info about Cady, including the text of letters he wrote that I'm having transcribed. This will hopefully be a historical resource, both locally and also for women's rights scholars interested in Elizabeth's background.

    Thanks again,
    Warren
